About the Event
Please join Rabbi Gordon, Board President Steve Klein, and other Hevreh members as we accompany our Torah to this inspiring reunion of several of New England's Memorial Scrolls Trust Torahs that survived the Holocaust.
The event which is sponsored by Temple Beth El and the Springfield JCC includes a procession of the Czech Torah scrolls and lecture by award-winning author and presidential speech writer Sarah Hurwitz.
The Memorial Scrolls Trust (MST), a UK-based organization, cares for 1,564 Czech Torah scrolls that survived the Holocaust. Some 1,400 have been loaned to communities around the world. There are over 100 MST scrolls in New England, six of which are in Western Massachusetts. Hevreh is fortunate to be the home to one of these historic Torah scrolls. Every Hevreh B'Nai Mitzvah student since 1986 has had the privilege of reading from this Torah.
This event is free, but registration is required.
