Now Open!

The Early Childhood Center (ECC) at Hevreh offers childcare for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a vibrant, nurturing, and creative environment. The ECC is open to the community at large and is housed within Hevreh, a Reform Jewish synagogue. Our full-week program is open to children from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Early childhood experiences provide the foundation for a child’s lifetime. Our play-based, emergent curriculum fosters exploration and cultivates children’s natural curiosity. Academics are integrated into our purposeful play. By providing opportunities for children to grow and to explore, we seek to spark the “I wonder” and “Aha” moments that are so valuable in a child’s development.

The health and safety of our children and staff is paramount and we will be in full compliance with the Massachusetts EEC requirements to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.  We have implemented procedures to help protect everyone’s well-being, including daily health screening prior to entry; adult use of masks and other PPE; frequent handwashing; cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing of play areas and supplies; physical distancing; staggered curbside drop-off and pick-up; stable classroom groupings; and additional staff training in new health and safety protocols.

While these are adjustments to our operations, our fundamental philosophy has not changed. The ECC at Hevreh is committed to providing a loving, nurturing, play-based environment that empowers the child and fosters exploration and growth within an intimate setting.  Please contact Ellen Marcus, the ECC Director, at for more information.
