Hevreh of Southern Berkshire

Hevreh

At Hevreh, a member of the Union for Reform Judaism, we boldly live Jewish values, to uplift, enrich and transform the lives of those we touch. We have a joyful and music-filled worship, thoughtful study of Torah and Jewish texts, a deep commitment to social justice and an ongoing exploration of God and spirituality form the core of our activities. We are a thriving community of over 300 member households, offering religious school, concerts, advanced studies, lectures, a film series, and community - we even opened a safe and thriving Early Childhood Center (ECC) in 2020. We are a diverse community of homegrown, transplants, single and married, Jewish by birth, by conversion and by chosen community. We share a unique and relaxed culture and view of the world which highlights the beauty of our surroundings, the sophistication of culture, self-improvement, and the building of a loving and caring community. We celebrate Judaism and Jewish joy in every form, as a community, together.
Located in Great Barrington, MA, we take advantage of all the Berkshires offer from world class museums, theater and more theater, dance and music, farm to table restaurants, high-speed internet (great for streaming video), outdoor winter and summer adventures, the beautiful falling leaves of autumn, and an easy distance to both NYC and Boston. The Berkshires is a gem of New England - don’t just take our word, come check it out for yourself!
As we continue to grow, Hevreh seeks an Executive Director who will think creatively about the operations of our community: resourcing revenue, controlling expenses, and managing facilities. This person will manage and train a staff (currently F/T Office Manager and P/T Comms/Marketing Manager), guide them in line with our shared Hevreh values, engage volunteers and ensure technology and connectivity is effective for our needs. We are excited to write the next book of Hevreh’s storied history.
