Covid-19 Vaccination Policy

To uphold our communal value of Pikuach Nefesh—preserving life—we feel it is essential for Hevreh to be a fully vaccinated campus for our daily operations. Effective August 2021, all staff and faculty at Hevreh are fully vaccinated and all future employees will be required to show proof of full vaccination.

This motion extends this vaccine mandate to all eligible members of our community and guests, and includes adult members of households with students attending the Early Childhood Center and Religious School programs.

Masks are required in all shared, public areas of Hevreh including the entry, lobby, sanctuary, hallways, program spaces, classrooms and bathrooms, especially where it’s difficult to maintain social distance, and where children may be present.

In-Person Programming Including Shabbat & Holidays Policy: Effective as of Sept. 10, 2021

  • All in-person programming at Hevreh (adult learning, classes, events) will be open to fully-vaccinated members and guests, who will be asked to show proof of vaccination.

  • In-person worship on Friday evenings will be open to fully-vaccinated* members and guests— who are required to show proof of vaccination. Children who are not yet eligible for vaccination may attend with vaccinated adult members of their household.

  • When services are held outdoors, masking will be optional but encouraged.

  • When services are held indoors, all in attendance must be masked regardless of vaccination status, including children ages 2+.

  • Our Saturday morning Shabbat programming (Creative Beit Midrash, Saturday morning Torah study, et. al) is open to members and their guests following the same requirement as above.

  • Our Remote Zoom options are always available for those who cannot or prefer not to join us in person.

Policy for Youth and Family Programs at Hevreh(including ECC & Religious School)

  • All eligible members of any household including both ECC and Religious School students must be fully vaccinated in order for those students to attend in-person at Hevreh.

  • Families will have until October 28, 2021 to supply proof of vaccination to the appropriate program director.

  • Once the vaccine is approved for additional age groups, we will provide a date by which ECC and Religious School students must be vaccinated. Specific details about how our schools will work to create a healthy and safe environment for all students will be communicated directly to families; please keep an eye on your inbox for forthcoming information.

*”Fully vaccinated” per CDC guidelines means 2 weeks have passed since receiving the second dose of an FDA- or WHO-authorized double-dose vaccine, or the sole dose of an FDA- or WHO-authorized single-dose vaccine.
