Mitzvah Marketplace Cards

Again this year we offer Mitzvah Marketplace Cards for you to purchase and give as a gift.

What is a Mitzvah Marketplace card?  Essentially, it's a card telling the receiver that a certain organization has been given money in the receiver's name.  It's easy, it's thoughtful and it's a way to help others.

By clicking on one of the two links below you can access the order form for this year.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to call us.

 Darfur – Update

Dear President…. When you are at Hevreh look for the basket containing the most recent postcards in a campaign urging President Obama to fulfill his promise to make ending the genocide in Darfur a priority of his administration.

Please fill out a postcard and if you are so moved place a small donation in the jar near the basket. This will help cover the cost of postage and the cost of the postcards. Sending in 100 postcards will make Hevreh eligible to receive a banner acknowledging that we are a congregation who is working toward ending the genocide in Darfur.

Please be on the lookout for announcements regarding the screening of Darfur: A Call to Action Lessons from Faith Leaders to be followed by discussion.

Websites to visit to make a difference

Go to www.hungersite.com and click daily to provide 1.1 cups of food to the hungry worldwide. You’ll find a link there to the Breast Cancer Site which is in need of your "daily click" to help provide free mammograms to women in need.

There will also be other links to various sites that can use our help.  Take a minute to visit each one.

Continuing Social Action at Hevreh

People’s Pantry

Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to bring 956 items to the People's Pantry for distribution!  That is an amount comparable to what was collecte by the entire Post Office Drive.

Please remember that hunger knows no season, so bring in a canned good whenever you are at Hevreh.  Our South County neighbors appreciate and depend upon our generosity.
